Designer and Owner Comments:
Designer Comments:  The Intermediate School is a 90,000 SF load-bearing CMU structure with a brick veneer and metal roof. The school's design uses three cross corridors, offering a line of sight of the entire building from just two locations. The school also houses a 10,000 SF gymnasium with performing platform, a cafeteria and kitchen, a state-of-the-art media center with broadcaster studio, and administration area. To increase the efficiency of the school a 90 well geothermal heat pump system was installed, along with tankless hot water heaters, motion sensors in classrooms to control lights and other green design methods to increase performance of the building and minimize cost of upkeep.
