Designer and Owner Comments:
Designer Comments:  The plan is a compact cluster arrangement with the media center being the central organizing element. Upon entering the school through the entry tower, the corridor is flanked by the guidance wing and the administrative wing, both of which have high visibility glass walls. At the end of the entry corridor resides the Media Center, which has equal access from both ends. Three classroom wings cluster around the Media Center, providing equal access to Dining, Media Center and the Gym. Exceptional Cbildren spaces occur at the ends of corridors and are conveniently located to exits. Corridors are designed to provide good visual security and monitoring. The K- 1 classrooms have 2 toilets/classroom which was a special requirement of the Education Specifications Committee. Two computer labs have been created to accommodate the increased demand for resource labs independent of the classroom.
Owner Comments: A complete facility serving both regular education and special education. Would consider the climate control system as a very positive system. The layout is convenient to the media center, the office space is wonderful, and the cafeteria-gym area will be well used by the community due to its inviting design. Foyers should have been added to all entrances.
