SB 914 - Additions & Revisions Effective January 1, 2002
Architects and Engineers: Must prepare plans and specs when:
- New construction or repairs to structure/foundation > ($45,000) Now > $135,000.
- Repairs not involving structure or foundations > ($100,000) Now > $300,000.
- (New) Any work involving life safety systems Now > $100,000.
- (New) Cert. of Compliance not required except for life safety Now < $300,000.
Landscape Architects: May now:
- Locate and orient buildings and site elements:
- Locate and design streets, but not designs for major roads and thoroughfares.
- Locate, route and design public paths and travelways.
- Design surface or incidental subsurface drainage systems and conservation and soil erosion control measures necessary to site design and landscape plans.
Boards of Landscape Architecture and Engineering will agree to a memorandum of understanding on overlaps in their respective professions.
